Confirmations in OLQH
Just as Baptism gives new life, Eucharist nourishes life, and Reconciliation restores life when it is broken, Confirmation strengthens that life by the gifts of the Holy Spirit (CCC 1285). It is about strengthening what God has given, and continues to give, to his sons and daughters (CCC 1302-1303). The body of believers has grown in number, join us in congratulating an incredible group of faithful who received their final Sacrament of initiation, the Sacrament of Confirmation.
On Saturday, September 5th, 2020, Bishop Frank Dewane (Diocese of Venice in Florida) celebrated two Masses in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church and confer the Sacrament of Confirmation to our candidates. In total, 68 confirmandi received the Sacrament of Confirmation. A big congratulations and blessing are extended to the Confirmation Class of 2020!
Many teachers have committed valuable time and energy to imparting the faith properly and effectively to their students. We extend our gratitude to them and all those volunteers who have dedicated time. Volunteers are the lifeblood and their time spent in preparing those for a life with Christ is invaluable. Let us offer a heartfelt congratulations to all involved and that they may continue to be enlightened through the Holy Spirit.
May our prayer be one of gratitude for the newly conferred with the Sacrament. May our own faith be strengthened by their witness in choosing to persevere in a deepening walk of faith.
